His detailed portraits, large-scale murals and installations span a range of mediums including aerosol, acrylic, ink and digital design. Michael’s work is meditative; he channels creative energy to explore the wilds of his imagination and draws from the colours and patterns found in the surroundings of our natural environment and urban infrastructures.

Recently our friends at Maverick Hair & Art Space hosted an exhibition of Shmick’s work. From all accounts the evening was awesome, and Burleigh Brewing was there to provide the social lubricant for the evening.

Michael has painted site-specifically and exhibited extensively in South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales and has completed public and private commissions in numerous interior and exterior spaces. Michael launched his own clothing label Shmick Supply Co. in 2015, he was recently a key artist in the Gold Coast City Gallery’s Art Battle.
