Recently, Burleigh Brewing held the inaugural BLA! (Brewing Local Artists) exhibition.  Set amongst the backdrop of brewing and fermentation tanks, the event was a resounding success with over 200 guests attending on the evening as some of the Gold Coast’s most talented artists showcased their work.  Burleigh Brewing developed the event, with the artist’s brief – Balance, Character & Soul, to provide artists with a framework to demonstrate their take on the Gold Coast’s unique culture and lifestyle.

What was evident on the evening was the beauty of interpretation, as artists showcased via the mediums of fine art, sculpture and photography.  Artists Lou

Duggan, Mitchell Fleming and Rebecca Cunningham provided live art entertainment on the evening, to offer guests an insight into how their particular art is created. Guests also had the chance to vote for their favourite artist on the evening.

The overall artists prize that was on offer for the evening was provided by Blank GC magazine, a money can’t buy one-
page feature within the popular publication along with two tickets to the 2017 Gold Coast Music Awards. The ‘crowd favourite’ artist drawn from guests voting cards was Lou Duggan who was ecstatic to be a part of an event which supported artists from within the Gold Coast community.
