We knew it. You knew it. Now the judges have confirmed it.

At the 2021 Australian International Beer Awards our very own Burleigh Twisted Palm won the title of Champion Australian Style Pale Ale. In a year of tough international competition, we were the only Queensland brewery to win a Champion trophy this year!

The Australian International Beer Awards attracts several thousand entries from more than 400 breweries in over 25 countries. It is one of the largest annual brewing competitions in the world. The competition boasts a highly regarded judging panel of industry experts from Australia and overseas.

The awards were announced at a massive industry party in Melbourne. Of course we all wanted to go but there wasn’t room for all 70 of us! So how to pick? Six members of the Burleigh Brewing team were randomly selected out of a hat to travel down to the awards. The team had an absolute blast and were amazed at how big the event was. They were thrilled and so proud to go on stage and collect the award on behalf of Burleigh Brewing.

Our beers have a strong history of receiving accolades on the world stage. This latest trophy will sit proudly along the many other medals and awards in the trophy cabinet – including 27 World Championship Gold medals to date. We also won 11 silver medals and 3 bronze. How cool is that!

Now, with numbers swelling to 800+, it is truly amazing that our team continues to consistently brew beers that stand out in that growing crowd.”
