As the stage lights began to shimmer, the local pool of Gold Coast talent began to flood the Burleigh Brewing Taphouse for the 2016 Gold Coast Music Awards on June 16th. We are proud to support our local artists, so we were excited to once again up our craft brewery doors to welcome the fine musical talent the Gold Coast has to offer.

It was a big night for singer-songwriter Ella Fence taking home the top spots for both Best Song Of The Year and the Best Music Video Of The Year for her song Unknown Water.

All the way from Germany, Hussie Hicks accepted their award for Best Artist.

Jason McGregor proved to be the most popular taking out The People’s Choice award and Folk band Leopold’s Treat were named the Emerging Artist Of the Year.

Guy Cooper claimed Music Champion Of The Year, Blues On Broadbeach took Event Of The Year and Nightquater affirmed top spot for the Venue Of The Year.

We would like to thank everyone who made an effort towards the night –  Be it musicians, organisers or supporters. Without the exposure it becomes more difficult for artists to make it to the spotlight. It’s wonderful to see them receive the recognition they deserve for their hard work and determination.
